Myer is looking for a Risk & Safety Advisor (NSW/ACT) to provide safety leadership and support multiple sites through collaborative partnering with the business to manage workplace safety risk. You will support the implementation of the safety management system and ensure compliance, along with leading the coaching, mentoring and development of safety capabilities at sites, to drive improved safety performance across the business.

  • You will work across all our Myer sites in NSW & ACT with some flexibility to work from home

About the role:

  • You will be supported by a National Risk & Safety Team with close links to Risk & Safety team members based in NSW and other states whilst supporting the NSW/ACT General Manager and partnering with the NSW Regional Operations Team in the implementation of the Myer Safety Management System
  • Provide leadership and direction to sites to support and implement the Regional Risk & Safety Strategy, achieve strategy objectives and safety targets.
  • Train, coach and provide advice to sites in creation of a safe work environment including implementation of the Myer Safety Management System and driving a positive safety culture.
  • Actively manage safety issues such as reported hazards, serious incident investigations and notifiable incidents to ensure timely corrective action is taken.
  • Monitor sites compliance with the safety management system and develop, implement and monitor health & safety plans to improve safety performance and achieve compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in projects to deliver Myer’s National and Regional Risk & Safety Strategy, the safety system improvements and safety initiatives.
  • Deliver and support safety training programs and coaching to Site Management to develop safety management capabilities.
  • Regular intrastate travel and onsite presence across Myer sites is an essential requirement of the role (kilometre allowance provided)

 

 

About you:

  • Relevant qualifications in a Safety-related field e.g. OHS, Risk, Allied Health, Human Resources are essential (degree preferable)
  • Flexibility in hours worked, where at times safety support will be necessary outside of standard business hours
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and application of safety regulatory frameworks relevant to the jurisdiction
  • Experience in Safety Auditing, with experience conducting audits is desirable
  • Experience working as a Safety advisor in a multi-site organisation
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete work in a timely manner to a high standard
  • Strong stakeholder and interpersonal management skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Current driver’s licence, ability to travel to Myer stores in NSW/ACT
  • Strong data management skills with intermediate skill level in excel
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships at all levels across the business and with external stakeholders
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills to manage projects, caseloads and priorities
