Product Development Assistant - Womenswear

Myer is seeking a Product Developer Assistant - Womenswear to support the product development process, manage critical timelines and ensure timely product and sample deliveries. Reporting to the Senior Product Development Manager or Product Development Manager, this role provides key administrative and coordination support while contributing to category performance, sales growth and overall business objectives.

About the role:

  • Support end-to-end production
  • Manage supplier communications, costing information, and support cost negotiations
  • Maintain accurate product data, product registrations, and buy plan administration
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, order records, and shipment updates
  • Track critical path milestones, escalating risks, delays, and production issues
  • Collaborate with Design, QA, Planning, Supply Chain, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery
  • Develop expertise in fabric, garment construction, costing, supplier management, and process improvement

About you:

  • 1-3 years' experience in product development, sourcing, production, buying support or apparel administration preferred.
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion, Product Development, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred.
  • Understanding of garment construction, fabrics and apparel product development desirable.
  • Strong administrative, numerical and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; retail product/order system experience desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately to critical path deadlines.
  • Curiosity and willingness to develop commercial, costing, sourcing and production capability.
