The Technology Team is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to develop and maintain the company’s server, cloud and network infrastructure to ensure a reliable, secure, and cost-effective platform to support Myers retail, distribution centres, and support offices.
About the role:
- Provide senior technical ownership and operational support for Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, virtualisation, storage, backup and associated infrastructure services.
- Monitor platform availability, performance, capacity, security, currency and lifecycle status.
- Lead incident diagnosis and problem management for complex systems issues, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions and clear stakeholder communication.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patching, lifecycle refreshes with minimal business disruption.
- Maintain tested backup, restore and disaster recovery processes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, standards, support procedures, configuration records, runbooks and knowledge articles.
- Automate repeatable administration, monitoring and support activities using appropriate scripting and platform tooling.
- Work closely with network, cyber security, application, architecture, project and service delivery teams to deliver secure and supportable solutions.
- Coordinate managed service partners and vendors, ensuring incidents, requests, changes and project deliverables are progressed within agreed expectations.
- Apply change, configuration, access and security controls in line with Myer policies, standards and governance requirements.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to analysts and support teams, and act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure matters.
About you:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and engineering enterprise systems in a complex, distributed environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and identity-related services.
- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS and Microsoft 365 services, including hybrid infrastructure and identity integration.
- Strong experience with virtualisation, enterprise storage, backup, recovery and disaster recovery technologies.
- Demonstrated capability in systems monitoring, performance analysis, capacity management, patching and lifecycle management.
- Experience diagnosing complex incidents and producing clear root-cause analysis, remediation plans and technical documentation.
- Scripting and automation experience, preferably PowerShell
- Working knowledge of cyber security principles including privileged access, vulnerability remediation, hardening, logging and segregation of duties.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical risk and options to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting 24 x 7 retail or similarly critical operational environments is desirable.
